In addition to actively investigating cases, Michelle Brown serves as manager of Third Chair Investigations LLC.   

Michelle began her law enforcement career in 1995 with the Bedford Police Department where she received the majority of her professional training. Michelle started her law enforcement career with short stints as a dispatcher / 9-1-1 operator and public service officer.  She quickly advanced to patrol officer for nine years, investigator for two years, and Detective Sergeant for three years.  During Michelle’s law enforcement career she also served as a crisis negotiator for SWAT for eight years receiving extensive training in communications, interviewing / interrogation and crisis intervention. 

Michelle acquired her Master peace officer certification early in her career and obtained several teaching certifications, including ASP baton Instructor, SHARP Instructor, PPCT Defensive Tactics Instructor and OC Instructor Trainer. She has performed hundreds of police investigations, conducted numerous interrogations and interviews, testified in several major cases, conducted surveillance details, and partnered with various local and federal agencies to include the U.S. Secret Service.

In 2011 Michelle semi-retired from law enforcement to obtain her Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University.  She achieved her professional designation of LCC from the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas in 2013.  Michelle had previously earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia College in 2007 with magna cum laude honors. 

Since 2012 in addition to her private investigation caseload, Michelle has served as a reserve deputy constable working asset forfeiture cases, and managing the property and evidence room. 

Michelle has taught courses in advanced law enforcement topics at several institutions of higher education, including North Central Texas Council of Governments, Texas A & M University School of Law and Remington College.  She also served as a field training officer and taught police report writing. 


Michelle and her husband Tim, an attorney and licensed PI, live in North Tarrant County.
