Dalton Franklin is a seasoned technology entrepreneur and decorated IT professional. He began in the IT field at age fourteen. For the last decade Dalton has specialized in providing technology leadership to highly regulated and legal industry.

At Third Chair, Dalton is responsible for providing technical direction for both internal and external business. Internally, Dalton manages the systems that that we use to effectively serve our clients. Externally, Dalton has been pivotal in the design and development of the technology product and service offerings delivered by Third Chair Technologies.

Dalton has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry in organizations ranging in size from small development startups to large homeland security contractors. Before working for his own company, High Yield Services, Dalton worked for XPedient Technologies, working as a liaison with multiple counties’ prosecutors’ offices. Prior to joining XPedient, Dalton led software design and implementation efforts at TerraCerta, a Nashville-based commercial software company that provides software access control and auditing for windows-based machines. The TerraCerta product was developed at the front of the "application white listing" movement in the security software space. TerraCerta competes with companies such as McAfee, Symantec, and other smaller security companies.

Before working at TerraCerta, Dalton developed a content management system for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. The system served as a rapid prototype to allow human resources employees to fully discover and describe the requirements of their systemized content management. The insight provided by the use of the prototype was a key factor in the subsequent budgeting process for more than $2 million of software integration.

At Workplace, LLC, Dalton was both Senior Network Engineer and a software developer. Workplace provided IT consulting to small businesses in the Nashville area as well as custom development of inventory and point of sale management applications. While at Workplace, Dalton received the honor of becoming the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional for Analyzing Business Requirements and Defining Solution Architectures. After working in the technology consulting industry for several years, Dalton received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University.
